Solar technicians educated by TVET+ are given a pad with a software to identify locations to install rooftop solar systems. They sell + install these to locals who pay in installments (people have funds to purchase kerosene, but not to pay 100% up-front for a solar system). The cost for purchase and installation is paid by a fund that diaspora invest into.
Using digital MRV we know when a panel starts producing and how much it produces. When panels start producing, the technician is paid a major part of his commission. If a customer does not pay an installment, the panels can be remotely shut off until payment is received = everybody has an incentive to ensure the panels work as intended.
